Well i was board last saturday so i decided to go rumagging through the old movies i have on VHS and i found this movie i had bought along time ago but never watched. I saw it had brendon frasier in it so i thought "hey he was great in the mummy how bad could it be" right now i roll my eyes thinking of how foolish i was when i thought that. Well about 20 minutes into the movie i realized what a horrible mistake i made but as so many other people on this board i was inclined and felt obligated to see this one throuh. Well i guess there were a couple funny scenes but tehre were points were it just got a bit weird for instance the little cartoon about the kid that gets an erection because of that ladies "meat wings". kinda liked that steven king reference though :twirl:
And so is sat through monkey bone saw how the likes of Bridget fonda , brendan fraiser, and chris kattan, ogh and whoopi goldberg have come to participate in this mindless stupidity. This movie is a skidmark on all of their careers . but as i always say "hey it could be worse could have been watching vampires vs zombies again"
I just wanted to see what other people thought of this movie
for all of you that did i express my deepest regrets
i have avoided this movie all throughout my life.
I didn't think it was very good. The "afterlife" parts needed to be explained better and Monkeybone himself wasn't funny at all. It seemed like someone was trying very hard to make a "Tim Burton" movie and failed.
I expected a really funny movie, guess what. no.
"insert head shaking animation here"
I saw a tiny bit of this on Comedy central once. It was the part where the monkey and B. Fraiser and disguised as a soul or something and are talking to Woopie golberg. Id like to see the whole thing. Not because it looks funny, but because it looks like an original type of movie. Plus i liked the mokey animation.
i avoid anything with Brendan Fraiser in it..

So you've never seen Encino Man? Aw, thats a bloody shame!
Rose McGowan was unbelievably cute in Monkeybone (IMO).
But that was all that it had going for it. Pretty much unwatchable.
anyone else like that steven king and edgar allen poe scene?
