What is Grimace? Many have asked this very question. Seriously though, what does a purple blob have to do with McDonalds?
It's what you find in the toilet after eating at McDonald's.
At one point someone wrote a well written conspiracy theory on the subject. Unfortunately I can't find the article but it involves Grimace being the symbolism of a chemical put in McDonald's food that makes it addicting.
Nothing can kill the Grimace. It drinks the blood of the innocent!

He's the jelly they used to give you with their breakfast biscuits.
All I can tell you is, nothing can stop the Grimace.
Semi-obscure reference. Somewhat.

The next logical question would be: "what does real food have to do with McDonalds?"
I honestly don't know how it could be addictive. The stuff is just awful!
Come on people! It's so obvious what he is! look at his shape...clearly he is either a chicken nugget or one of their fish patties after going rotten.

The first place I'd heard it used was in the way Torgo quoted it as "Nothing can kill the Grimace", which was in an episode of the "Clerks" animated series. Not sure if they were making a joke by quoting it from somewhere else or just doing some random piece of hilarity on their own, but I didn't find
this amazing piece of ear candy (http://www.request-a-song.com/songs/viewsong.php?songid=65) while searching for other references...

Damn, I didn't even see he did it. Now I feel bad.
Don't feel bad HG, I was hoping I'd be the first to make the joke too, but it looks like neither of us should ever challenge the man to a duel, as he is faster on the draw. :tongueout:
Grimace used to be a man, until he started eating at McDonalds all the time.
From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonaldland#Characters):
"Grimace is a large, purple being of indeterminate species with short arms and legs; he is known for his monotonous face and slow-witted demeanor. His most common expression is the word "duh". Originally, Grimace was the "Evil Grimace", with two pairs of arms with which to steal milkshakes. After that first campaign, the character was revised to be one of the "good guys", and his number of arms was reduced by two. Commercials and merchandise generally portrayed him as a well-meaning simpleton, whose clumsy antics provided a comic foil to Ronald McDonald. The character was retained after the streamlining of the characters in the '80s, but was dropped in 2007."
So apparently the suits in marketing can kill the Grimace.
Evil Grimace!---

That quote actually brought to mind an ep in Buffy when they went to college. Buffy and Willow met up with Xander on campus and they were talking about guys and their penises. And Xander said very loudly, "Nothing can defeat the penis!"

I'll pass on that. Though there are plenty of websites out there full of guys who enjoy that sort of thing, I'm not one of 'em...
This discussion has me thinking that Grimace is most likely some piece of rotten food that you find in a McDonalds trashcan.

I think that is the McRib.
Stupid McDonalds and their getting rid of everyone but Ronald.
I want more Grimace.
My cousin and I used to laugh every time we heard Grimace's name. It sounds funny and He's an idiot, the best of both worlds.

Well Grimace, but now that I think about it...
Very, very surreal.
I do remember Grimace always being associated with shakes. I wasn't sure if he was some kind of ice-cream-based organism, or maybe composed of dairy fat. Of course, that never explained why he was purple. Clogged arteries maybe? He is about the right shape for someone who drinks that many milkshakes.

You mean there's real milk in the shakes? I thought they were made with high fructose corn syrup and vanilla flavour? Or are my conspiracy theorist friends wrong?
I always thought that Grimace was a descendant of the Flying Polyps of Lovecraft.

Grimace: He will be missed.
Grimace can never truly die if we remember him in our hearts.

Yes, I think of him and his McDonaldsland cronies everytime I have sudden unexplained chest pains and a tingling sensation in my left arm.

Perhaps he's the symbolism of a trash bag containing failed McDonald menu items such as the Arch Deluxe, Mcdonalds Pizza...the list goes on believe me.
side note...aren't the old school McDonalds commercials creepy...
