Title: Marion Coitillard's Parents Must Be First-Cousins
Post by: ER on March 02, 2008, 02:54:37 PM
I wonder how many Oscar voters knew she said the owners of the World Trade Center staged 9-11 in order to save money on refurbishing the aging towers?

Hmmm . . . . yeah, I guess all the other high rise buildings in the world that got rammed by jetliners in the last few years didn't collapse, now that you mention it!  Obviously an inside job!!!

So her picture is now in the dictionary next to the word clueless? :teddyr: Ya gotta love it when people open their mouths and show how little they really know on a subject.

My cousin has been trying to convince me for years that 9/11 was an inside job.

Not the first or only celebrity to make this suggestion, but at this level of inanity, I feel the world is finally ready for my theory on who really killed Nicole Brown & Ron Goldman.

It might even sound logical at this point.

It certainly is an interesting take on what was an awful event.  I read between the lines and I think  she's trying to say don't take anything on face value because there's always something else going on underneath.

Wouldn't surprise me, though, to find out she's a scientologist  *lol*

Sadly, this kind of opinion is not that uncommon in France, where a slightly different paperback conspiracy theory was a national bestseller.

What would that be?  You have piqued my curiosity.

Here's (http://archives.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/europe/06/26/france.book/) a news article about the book, and here's (http://www.nationalreview.com/robbins/robbins040902.asp) a more detailed commentary.

I remember going to Amsterdam a few years after the 9/11 disaster and seeing a similar conspiracy theory documentary playing on prime time television.  My expatriate friend who was living there at the time told me a distressing number of Dutch people actually believed such things.  Heck, a distressing number of people here believe such things, but they don't make bestsellers or prime time TV specials out of them.  We reserve those for Kennedy assassination theories.

As I mentioned earlier, I think the world's ready for my theory on who killed Nicole Brown & Ron Goldman.

OJ on the LA freeway
I was sick of hearing about it after the first week
frankly, I never really cared
For all I cared, space critters could've done it.

You know, those little green men have a little too much to drink, they get to flying their flying saucers a little too fast, and at that speed, a disk could take a man's head clean off.

And then, of course, the government comes in & cover it up.

Then it hit me: The Government! Of Course! The Clintons did it!

Jimmy carter came back from Korea, claiming victory following negotiations to stop them from building nuclear weapons.
Bill Clinton put his Haitian embargo policies into effect
NBC aired Hillary Clinton's big two-hour infomercial for socialized Health care

And what did everybody talk about?

:buggedout: Oh dear. 9/11 is my birthday and I have not had a proper one since 2001 and now this..............

Her director Olivier Dahan is cut from the same cloth apparently: in an interview for his film Crimson Rivers 2: Angels of the Apocalypse he is quoted as saying "I can film corpses all day, every day."

Fairly typical of the "thinking" that goes on in Hollywood I'm afraid.

HAH! Like the Militay-Industrial complex needs to go to these lengths.  Just take the right people to dinner and "poof" more money.

Just silly...but is this really any more embarrassing than Freedom Fries and cd burnings?

Sadly, this kind of from-the-hip conspiracy lunacy blurs and damages the legitimate criticism of the administration.  Not to mention the solid argument of the all-too-real danger of blowback.  The idea of reprecussions from decades of shoddy foreign policy chicanery is a little beyond the average Americans understanding of geopolitics.  Adding silliness like phantom jet-liners, demolition schemes and cruise missiles to the discussion only makes that understanding nigh impossible.
