RIP Mr Clarke ... really enjoyed your books, movies, show, etc. etc.
Here is a salute to one of the greats. RIP good sir.
I can't tell you how devastated I am by this news. :bluesad:
I love this guy. I credit him with giving me my interest in sci fi.
When I was in grade school, about grade 4 I think, we got a huge shipment of new books for the library come in. I snuck into the store room during lunch and rummaged through the box and found "A Fall Of Moondust". The cover was just the freakiest thing I'd ever seen. I think it was a UFO half buried in the surface of the moon. From then on, I was hooked.
RIP Mr Clarke. You will be sorely missed.
a monolith in the world of sci-fi
hope he's gone on to 'something wonderful'
Not unexpected given his age, but sad news. Read a lot of books, including a lot of Mr. Clarke's, and always really loved "Childhood's End."
I grew up on Clark's stories and series. Words can't express :bluesad:
Always enjoyed his work. -sad news indeed. He's a Starchild.
Just imagine what he could have come up with if he had another 90 years. A life well lived.
He will be missed. He made the most of his life and gave much to the world.
