Well, the latest season of Hell's Kitchen officially aired the other night and I must say that it's off to a good start!
Most of the contestants are total morons and I couldn't even venture to guess who will win.
And Chef Ramsay is still in top form as he ridicules, insults and berates each contestant. (I love it when he calls them "donkeys")

The opening was pretty good with Chef Ramsay donning a disguise and riding with the contestants on the bus to Hell's Kitchen.
All of them were bragging about their cooking skills and Bobby even called himself "The Black Chef Ramsay". None of them knew that Ramsay was sitting there among them.
It wasn't until they actually got into the restaurant that Ramsay tore off his disguise and then made them prepare their signature dishes.
One was so disgusting that it made Ramsay puke into the garbage can. (I doubt he was actually puking...it seemed very fake)
But by far the worst dish was a cornish game hen cooked and stuffed inside a miniature pumpkin! When it was cut open and served onto a plate, it looked more like an alien brain than a hen. Gross!
Check out the signature dishes:

What do you think of Hell's Kitchen Season 4 so far?
I was almost on the floor laughing at the stay at home dad who was holding the scallops in his hand. I think this crop of contestants don't show much promise. The "black Gordon Ramsey" seemed to ignore everything around him. I did like the NY girl's attitude in the kitchen but she reminded me a bit of the red head from last season. I didn't catch the previews, I will have to YouTube that later.
Is it just me or does Chef Ramsay seem really, really harsh this season?
He's known for being quite mean to the contestants but his anger and yelling seem to have jumped up a notch this season.
Maybe it's because the incompetence level of the apprentice chefs is so much higher this year.
I watched last night's episode and instead of laughing at what he usually says to the chefs, I was frowning. He must really be at his wits end with those guys.
It was funny though to see Aaron from last season as Chef Ramsay and the women walked into that restaurant.
I've come to the conclusion that they go out of their way to find the most incompetent and irritating folks possible for this show.
There is NO WAY some of those people have been "chefs" for years, FIFTEEN YEARS, like they claim. Attempting to serve raw meat? Good grief, that's just nuts. Can't remember the names of a couple of desserts on the menu? Just wow. One and one half hours waiting on appetizers? Yeeeouch. They must search high and low for these rejects to put together a show (or they are simply paid to look that incompetent) that allows Ramsey to yell and scream so much.
There's got to be one or two sleepers in there who will get that dream job, but the bulk of them are most assuredly filler for ratings.
I have my eye on the blondie who put those two girls up a few weeks ago. She seems like she could play an evil yet productive game. And yes I agree to the fodder level being rather high this season. Like that idiotic who couldn't cut up a chicken.
Ramsey I think is a bit higher on the prick scale because it's his restaurant. However, as Ash pointed out, his witty little phrases have been less funny.
I love Hells Kitchen. I loved Kitchen Nightmares more (I watch the series on BBC America). More on that later. I have only seen one episode of this season. I forgot it started on the 1st of April and then DVR problems. I am going to start collecting the DVD sets. My wife hates this show, she thinks that he is a bully. I think he is too, but he expects perfection and that is what he shall get.
Does anyone else know if there is going to be anymore Kitchen Nightmares????
Later,
John
Does anyone think that guy who jumped ship to the ladies in yesterday's show (Matt) looks a bit like Bert from Sesame Street?
i love it, hope it have a book

He does. Maybe he is Burt's older more disfunctional brother, who had to go into a witness protection program.
Later,
