Title: SPIDER BABY remake
Post by: Rev. Powell on April 06, 2008, 03:37:10 PM
Oh, how I hope this project gets shelved.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1141273/ (Spider Baby, 2008 - status announced/in production)

From Jeff Broadstreet, the director who made NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD - 3D.

Is nothing sacred, Jeff?

Hmm. "Spider Baby" would be a hard movie to remake, the original is so unique, and this guy hasn't shown anything to convince me he'd be the right guy for the job.

I just found out about this, I wanted to see if there had been a topic on this.
I agree, I am a huge fan of this film and I think it's one of those that should be left in it's original form as a cult classic.

I'm also very much in love with Jill Banner (R.I.P.)

I believe this is well on its way to becoming a reality, with the original director & writer Jack Hill as executive producer.

It's suppose to be done this year!

It won't be nearly as bizzare or creepy, they'll change alot of it, I reckon they'll beef it up with gore and more horror elements, otherwise they'll end up with a total turkey that'll fly under the radar.

The least they could do is give Sid Haig the Lon Chaney role....

I'm gonna get Jill Banner tattooed on my other arm

I think that'd make awesome ink?

SPIDER BABY! That skinny guy in the red shirt is me. Everyone else is a bum. We made this for a 48 hour film project in Greensboro, North Carolina. Click around the album.

Scottie --
I can't see that facebook stuff because I don't want an account with them & they want a login/register.
Can you pull it over here so we can check it out?
Also, did you ever get the autographed ROBOCHIC vid back?  I never heard a followup on that --

Yes, she would make a very nice tattoo --

Looks good -- I love things like that --
I don't know what the link is, but the old producer of the HOMEMOVIES show that I worked on for 4 years has about a dozen vids up on YouTube now.  We did things like your project all the time, on Colorado statewide PBS TV!!  Film Threat magazine ran an article on us back when they were actually a print mag. and not exclusively online.
Anyway, I still want to know if you finally got the ROBO VHS back --

Aw, I missed a chance to see this at the original cinema last night after Diary of the Dead.  It was on at 11pm and that's a touch too late for me this time.

Nuts...
