We all know the phenomenon. To offset the all too serious hero, there is a goofy character which is meant to lighten things up. Yet these characters have a knack of spreading gloom and pain whenever they appear. Jar Jar Binks of course raised this speciality to new heights (or should that be depths?). So who, in your opinion merits the Jar Jar Binks award for annoying comic relief.
My nominations are:
The orange haired kid in the live action version of Fist of the North Star. He is so annoying that the director had him killed off two thirds down the movie.
The cook in Deep Blue Sea. I found myself cheering the shark on to get him.
Tracey Walter's Malak in Conan the Destroyer.
Nat Pendleton in the 1947 Bela Lugosi/George Zucco film "Scared To Death". While I enjoy this movie, Pendleton's bumbling idiot character REALLY makes me want find a new hobby. You get the feeling watching this movie, that Pendleton is the same in everyday life. I just hope he didn't father any children.
There is also Dirch Passer's Peterson in Reptilicus. Talk about goofy. Especially his Encounter (http://www.bmoviegraveyard.com/reviews/R/Reptilicus/reptilicus001.wmv) with an electric eel.
Not sure if it has to be from a movie or not, but Tails is the worst character ever..
I nominate a two-for-one: those f*cking robot sh*theads from
Star Odyssey! Every time those idiots were on screen with their irritating "we're trying to be robotic versions of Sonny and Cher!" shtick, I wanted to slit my wrists. I would like to learn how to vomit acid just in case I ever come across the tw*ts who wrote that garbage! :hatred:
DEATH! DEATH TO YOU, YOU LIFELESS ABOMINATIONS!
Marlon Wayons in Dungeons and Dragons..
Chris Tucker for the Fifth Element.
Eugene Byrd for Anacondas: Hunt for the Blood Orchid.
The "battle droids" from Star Wars The Phantom Menace.
I second the nomination! These two were so irritating, that I had to fight the urge to claw my eyes out and rip off my ears!!

DEATH! DEATH TO YOU, YOU LIFELESS ABOMINATIONS!
Mordant in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. Granted, I love the movie, but he didn't exist in anything previously or since, and was just a one off character. They never explained where Squat and Baboo were either.
I found that New York guy (I think his name was Joe) in "Destination Moon" especially annoying. They should had left him on the moon at the end, he did volunteer after all!
Sandra Bullock in Speed and Speed 2.
Chris Tucker in anything.
C390 in War Of The Clones (side note, I like C390 as comic relief in the other films but this one he seems to take up where Jar Jar left off)
Any character played by John Leguizamo fits into this category, especially his roles in the Ice Age series,Spawn and the regrettable Honeymooners re-make.
The chicken Billina in Return To Oz was dreadfully annoying to me.
David Wenham in Van Helsing.
Theres more, I'll post as I think of them...

Marlon Wayons in Dungeons and Dragons..
I second that motion. I was going to nominate Snails myself. That character was horrible.
I nominate Rob Schneider in "Judge Dredd." I have never felt a stronger urge to mutilate something small and furry with something sharp and infected than when I was watching this movie, Schneiders character was so annoying, stupid and totally out of place, the movie would have been great without that rambling idiot spoiling every single scene with some unwitty comment :hatred:
Twiki from the TV show "Buck Rogers in the 24th century." Gaaaaah.
The fat kid in Ruggero Deodato's BodyCount (1987). Not even his dubbing was funny.

Agreed. Oh the pain!

Beedee beedee beedee... *bleep* you Buck.
Twiki was an annoyance, but nowhere's near Scrappy Doo.
:hatred: Urge to kill rising.
Aw, I can see the mashup on Adult Swim now.
Bedee bedee bedee bedee... My name's Buck, and I'm here to f***!
Those two duck robots from Star Odessy have my vote, had I never remembered them I would have said that irritating Chimp from Nukie: In Search of America.
Now that I think about it, Star Odessy was one of the worst movies of all time.
The first thing I thought of is "Godzooky" from the Godzilla Animated Series. Not that it was a great cartoon to start with but a baby Godzilla with WINGS!! Even as a kid I hated that.
Since I bring up Godzilla I guess we can count Minya as an all around annoying character. Maybe if he was only in one movie , the Son of Godzilla ,that would have been good enough. No need to keep using him over and over. And as bad as Minya was in the classic G flicks , the worst for me has got to be "Final Wars". If the whole movie isn`t bad enough already they have a scene with Minya riding in a small pickup truck WITH THE SEATBELT ON!!! Remember all you Kaiju , buckle up for safety.
That stupid dog in Men in Black. The worms were OK though.
Many may disagree but I finally realized while listening to the Deathly Hallows that I find Ron Weasley utterly annoying...

I would have to say Dexter from American Ninja 3: Blood Hunt is annoying at times. All he cares about is kicking ass and trying to sleep with lots of women. Lucky for us, he got what was coming to him near the end of the film.
Rob Schnider as Fergee in Judge Dredd.
Chris Coppola in Uncle Uwe Boll's Far Cry 😳
I will go to my grave with this:
Ruby Rhod (Chris Tucker) from The Fifth Element is far more annoying then Jar Jar Binks ever was.
On top of that I would argue there is one character that lasted for over a decade of annoyance including 6 series, 3 straight to video films and 1 live action film. It would take Mindy Kaling to dethrone him as the worst thing to happen to the Scooby Doo franchise.

You didn't have to add the "as Fergee in Judge Dredd." Just Rob Schneider would have been enough/

In service of nothing besides a chuckle: the Monday after FIFTH ELEMENT opened I was working a summer job as a landscaping apprentice to a hulking John Goodman-type guy w/ a big walrus moustache. I asked him what he did over the weekend and he said he'd taken his daughter to see it... asked him how it was and he said "It was good except for this one part... this black fella who was... well... I guess he was some kind of sweet-talkin' guy."
I still use this euphemism once in a while when nothing else seems appropriate: Sweet-talkin' guy!
Weasel in Deadpool: not even remotely funny.
Leo Getz in Lethal Weapon 2 😝

Leo Getz in Lethal Weapon 2 😝
The entire cast in LETHAL WEAPON 3 and 4
The sheriff and his deputy in LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT (1972)
Jon Lovitz as Becker in National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 🙄
Everything as a collective entry in Superman 3. :buggedout: :buggedout:
I'm so glad to see that others share my hatred of Rob Schneider's character in Judge Dredd.
I was so hyped up for that movie when it came out. Saw it opening weekend. As soon as I saw his name in the opening credits, I was like "what the f*** is Copy Machine Guy (his then-inexplicably popular, annoying SNL character) doing in this movie?"
I revisited Judge Dredd a year or two ago and man, it's a great LOOKING flick, the set designs and costumes are absolutely frickin' ace, Stallone looked bad as HELL in the Dredd armor, but Schneider's character just irritated the f*** out of me. Whichever studio suit decided that Judge Dredd needed a wacky sidekick deserves to be boiled in oil.

Think yourself lucky. I've been a fan of the Judge Dredd comics as far back as I can remember and managed to score tickets to the UK premiere of Judge Dredd. I am fairly sure this was the same year Batman & Robin came out to and we also won tickets for the opening night.
The next film I'd get first night tickets to would be Van Helsing and after that trio, I swore I'd never do that again.
Alexei Sayle in Gorky Park: at one point, both William Hurt and Michael Elphick almost throw him out of a window and I wanted to help them. :buggedout:

I thought Sylvester Stallone was the comic relieve in
Judge Dredd.
