Figuring we have quite a few METALheads, punkers and rock fans on the board, I was wondering what everyone's favorite scream (and/or long note) are in metal or rock. For example;
Tom Araya Angel Of Death (29 seconds in)

Chris Cornell; Jesus Christ Pose (4:40 in)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umHoQBZeXJQ
Max Cavalera; Refuse Resist (2:51 in)

I have more but what are some of your favs?
Any song by "Screaming" Jay Hawkins. How do you think he got the nickname "Screaming?"
Rob Halford of Judas Priest in numerous songs, though his wail at the end of Screaming For Vengeance springs to mind.
Angel of Death is my fave but Bruce does a good one at the start of Number of the Beast.
Rollins era BLACK FLAG....MY WAR!!!

ROGER DALTRY on THE WHO's "Love Reign O'er Me"
ROBERT PLANT on LED ZEPPELIN's "Heartbreaker"
IGGY POP on THE STOOGES "1969"
JOHN LENNON on his "Mother"
LITTLE RICHARD on any of his great recordings, particularly "Lucille" and "Long Tall Sally"
JOHNNY RAY "Cryin'"
JANIS JOPLIN on BIG BROTHER and THE HOLDING COMPANY's "Ball and Chain" (particularly her live recording at the Monterey Pop Festival)
JOE COCKER "With A Little Help From My Friends"
PAUL McCARTNEY on THE BEATLES "Oh Darling!"
ROB TYNER on MC5's "Come Together"
I don't know that I'd call it the "best," but a favorite of mine is

THe scream in New Model Army's "I love the World" Sends chills down my spine evry time.
-Ed
sammy hagar just before the solo and just before the end in VH 'judgement day'
kurt cobain in the chorus of Nirvana - 'scentless apprentice'
just about any song by Disfear -great screaming vocals, and very intense and powerful musically -like Discharge meets Motorhead, but on steroids and speed. Unlike the Scorpions, this stuff will REALLY "rock you like a hurricane."
Converge's singer is a great screamer, others include Pig Destroyer, Slayer, Maynard J. Keenan from Tool to bad you don't hear him scream more.
"Should I Stay Or Should I Go" + "London Calling" - The Clash
"Why?" by Discharge
Jim Morrison- When The Musics Over
Always something about Buddy Holly, particularly, this live version I once heard of "Rip it up"
cannibal corpse: sentenced to burn (2:05-2:13)

Bruce "The Air Raid Siren" Dickinson after the guitar solo in "Run to the Hills," though this live version does not do it justice.

I'm always looking up old subjects on this website. I heard this song on the radio in the car today. Then, I stumbled across this thread looking for THE STOOGES... here is one of the BEST SCREAMS:
ROGER DALTRY on THE WHO's "Won't Get Fooled Again"

Two from Pink Floyd: on the tracks Comfortably Numb and the later Run Like Hell.
