I've always loved a great build up in the beginning of a song. Sometimes I'd rather listen to the first few seconds of a song than the whole thing. Hell, sometimes I hate the song but love the intro. Here are some of my favorites;
Testament, The Haunting

I love the first couple of minutes to Slayer's "Hell Awaits." Once the singing starts, forget it.
Intruder - Van Halen. It's actually it's own song, but on the album it sounds like the intro to Pretty Woman.

Def Leppard's Rock of Ages - "Gunter glieben glauten globen."
It may not really qualify for an intro, but the first two lines of Cracker's "Useless Stuff" always make me smile....

"Blue Monday" - New Order
Last time I played that song in the car, I must have backed up and listened to the intro at least four or five times before letting it play.

good choice, have to give a nomination to Bizarre Love Triangle too
I always thought that "Jump" by Van Halen had a heck of an intro. The best ever rock intro for Me would have to be "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol. It goes on the musical offensive straight away and never looks back.
The maniacal laughing at the begining of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES song 'Suicides an Alternative". It just goes on and on...almost to the point of ridicoulous. As Johnny would say-"That's some really wacky, wild, stuff!"
Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns and Roses.
I Am A Rifle by Rebel Spell
Facing The Thousand by Light This City
Rise Above by Black Flag
Have to add a couple more...
Back in Black - AC/DC
I Don't Like Mondays - Boomtown Rats
Armageddon - Prism
Rocket - Def Leppard
Let's Get Rocked - Def Leppard
