I wouldn't call him an idiot more of a person with no morals. But if this site says anything it spells the end of serious suing cases. The reason people have the right to sue people is so buisness that like to put out harmful products, morons who try to sell you lemons(bad cars) and the like are kept in check. But now everybody trying to make a quick buck by suing people is making a mockery of the whole system.

If judges would simply throw out frivolous lawsuits and sanction those who brought them, many of these problems could be lessened. There is already a mechanism in place for this, Rule 11, but judges have been slow to employ it for various reasons. In general for the past 50-100 years the legal system has been very pro-plaintiff, but that was following a long era where it was very pro-defendant: when the rich and powerful could easily quash meritorius lawsuits against them. The pendulum will eventually swing back, and for a brief period it will be in perfect equilibrium before it swings too far in the other direction.
