I've been trying to find out the name of this film for years now, never had any luck on any other film sites so earn yourself some brownie points guys!
Basically, I would have seen this film on VHS/beta in about 1986-1988, at a guess I would think it was probably a few years old, may be early 1980s, could have been late 70s though.
From what I remember a young (probably american) woman travels to South America (or maybe even east asia) to live and work (possibly as a teacher). At some point in the film there is an earthquake I think, not a major plot point though. The most vivid scene is right at the end of the film, she is in bed with her lover (a local I think) when a group of men (soldiers/robbers/guerillas?) burst in and shoot them both. Her lover is killed and she survives, but in the final scene you see her back in her own country in a wheelchair possibly paralysed.
Any help would be much appreciated, this has literally been bugging me for a decade!
I'm starting to think I've imagined this :hatred:
Age old bump!
Do you remember if the movie was a horror or a drama. And do you remember anything special about the character?
