The karma points are just a way to show pleasure (or displeasure) with a person's post. You'll notice the applause and boo "buttons" underneath a poster's name (you won't see it under your own, so don't bother looking). If someone says something you really like, or something that makes you laugh, applaud them (and hopefully tell them in a post that you appreciated what they said). If someone says something that is very offensive, boo them (we use that sparingly here, and, again, it is always best to let the person know why they have been booed). The whole setup is just a bit of added fun for most of us; some take it a bit personally, mostly when they don't know why someone dinked their karma score--that's why I advise letting the poster know why you have karma-lized or de-karma-lized them. Just to start you off right, I'll give you a karma point for asking politely.  :teddyr:

As for what you do with the points, if you save up 5000 points, Andrew will come to your house and pat you on the head and tell you what a good boy or girl you are. Or at least that's what the voices in my head told me would happen.  :tongueout:

Can they cut through a steel hammer and still be sharp as new?

Note:  I know that's not a steak knife, okay, quit riding me about it before you start.

Actually Andrew still has real Santo Gold and an extra copy of Blood Circus (1985) on VHS in his closet and he will reluctantly dispose of it when one of us hits 5,000 karma points.

Yer all WHACK.  This poor soul has only two postings.  Blackwolf can't post karma until 10 posts anyway.  C'mon Blackwolf, get in there.

Karma points are actually components of a car engine that runs on good deeds, but that's something THE MAN doesn't want you to know about.

So my karma really can run over your dogma?  :teddyr:

Karma, Derf: that made me smile.

I would pay Andrew's air ticket for him to come and do that.  :teddyr:
