Title: Quest for the Missing Film
Post by: Phaedrusz on June 10, 2008, 11:09:24 AM
There are a few obscure movies (mostly foreign) for which I am on a constant quest.

Anyone have any that they have been trying to find?

#1 on my wish list: "Karate"- 1983 Bollywood Kung-fu flick.
#2 would have to be "Werewolf in a Women's Prison"- No explanation needed

6. The Adventures of El Frenetico and Go Girl

This seems to be available used from Amazon: I bet you could find it on E-Bay too.  Though it's a bit pricey.

I rented this a long time ago and found it inventive and funny.  Not something I'd devote a lifetime to tracking down, but worth seeing if you get the chance.

Hmm.  Let's see, I'd like to see (proper) R1 releases of. . .

TWINS OF EVIL
VAMPIRE CIRCUS
THE HUMANOID
STARCRASH
GALAXY OF TERROR
FORBIDDEN WORLD
LAKE OF DRACULA
WHEN WOMEN HAD TAILS
LISISTRATA
2020 TEXAS GLADIATORS
S*H*E (Sandhal Bergman PA)
PRINCESS OF THE NILE
CLEOPATRA'S DAUGHTER
WAR OF THE ZOMBIES (aka ROME AGAINST ROME)
RAPE OF THE SABINES
SHAME OF THE SABINES
.
.
.
AND the live action ASTERIX & OBELIX movies.
AND all the 80s era "adult" Caligula slash Messalina movies.
AND a fully restored version of WAR GODDESS (aka THE AMAZONS).

But for "missing film" I'd like to see.....

Theda Bara's CLEOPATRA.

Question me an answer!
Answer with a question!

Anything with the late, great Bobby Van gets my vote, too!  :teddyr:

You can't buy the DVD, it true, but you can get the original sountrack CD and relive all the sparkling Burt Bacharach/Hal David tunes!

HEY! I'M ALIVE! (1975)

A surly, Bible-thumping pilot (Ed Asner) and a perky young lady (Sally Struthers) get lost in the bitter Alaskan wilderness. Sally gets to say things like "Life is so fun and people are so interesting!". Based on a true story.

For a college compostition class a friend and I wrote the outline and a few songs for a musical version of this.  :teddyr:
