The director Andy millgan's style is sort of like John Waters if he was less intelligent and creative mixed with an early HG Lewis, but with hammy acting and costumes replacing the southern stereotypes. and no comic relief of any kind. The film is the right length at just 52 minutes and there is a hilarious documentary consisting of one guys memories of how insane working with Milligan was due to his tempermental nature, the lack of any kind ofa budget, and general amateurishness and hopelesness of it all a la Ed Wood.

I've wanted to see this for years. I bought THE BODY BENEATH (and suffered through it) a few months ago. The pain . . . the pain . . .
Milligan regular Neil Flanagan is unforgettable as Guru (the mad monk) particularly during the dramatic internal monologues he has with himself while looking in a mirror.
Kudos to Jacqueline Webb as Olga the Witch(?) Vampire(?) who, lurking around in her dime-store shower curtain outfits, pretty much steals the show.
Not sure when it is supposed to take place but there is a guy in one shot wearing funky 70s pants and the one actress has the same hairdo as Carol Brady and Shirley Partridge. I also like how Milligan does the same "head on a platter" gag that was in Ghastly Ones, only the guy who gets decapitated looks board. His face kind of says "Its a living" or "How did I get into this stupid picture."
The version I have is one a disc with three other films with intros by a BAD, BAD Elvira imitator. She is not funny.
