This is actually a site of mine you can hotlink smileys from to use in your forum posts.
http://5g8.net (Ya think you can remember that? (http://5g8.net/smileys/mockery-022.gif))
This is just an old portal template to which I added smileys. The smileys can be found in the third window down.
I will also be adding some flash games (presently the games listed are just remotely liked; and you'll get popups and all kinds of ads if you click on them). I will pull the games off of the remote servers and host them myself. They will be on individual pages so you can link to them in forum posts; and only them without having to go through the portal.
There are only a handful of smileys at present. I will be doubling or tripling the number of smileys. I am being very selective as I don't see any need to host 50 different smiley faces, 50 different crying smilies, etc., when 1 or two of each will suffice.
Presently you will only get the url of the smiley to which to link; you will have to add the image tags yourself. If any of you webmasters know how I can adapt the Javascript to include forum tags, please let me know.
If you have any difficulties with the site, let me know. No, I am not looking for feedback on the design. It is not much more than a domain parking page for a throwaway domain; I thought I might as well make some use out of it.
Hopefully you will get some use out of this.

I had thought that site went down. Cool to see that they are still going. (http://5g8.net/smileys/whipping-001.gif)

If I'm not mistaken it's one you posted here in the days of the old phorum when we didn't have such fancy things.

It is. But I had stopped using them and their partner site due to downtime on the sites. It seems to be working okay now.
I've wanted something like this for when Lester and I talk politics . . .

OK, I can't seem to remember proper insertion codes. The one I though would work didn't. A little help?
or maybe it's [img src=http://5g8.net/smileys/brick-wall.gif] ??

It's not HTML on the forum. All you need is the opening and closing image tags with the image's URL between them:

I have just updated the page with more smileys; including some which should be good for talking with Lester. (http://5g8.net/smileys/snicker.gif)
There are now four rows of smileys. If the new ones don't show up when you revisit the page, just refresh your browser.
Cool stuff, thanx for posting the links...I like this one...

I have not added any more smileys, yet, but I have added a forum and an arcade to the site.
The forum was added while guest posting was down in case anybody wanted to stay in touch ( :bluesad:).
The arcade is not a big arcade containing hundreds of games nobody wants to play, just a few dozen I selected, many of which I like to play, and in a format that does not beat you up with ads, heavy flash headers, and all of that stuff. You do have to go through the Funhouse to get to the arcade.
No, I'm not intending to make this my personal site, or turn it into some kind of big site. Since some have been using the smileys from there, as they were intended, I thought I would add a few things for fun. :tongueout:

I have now added a smiley sign generator to the site. You can choose the type of smiley you want and add your own text, then it will generate your smiley and give you the link code; properly formatted this time for forums.
I have not linked this from the front page yet, so here is your only link to the generator: http://5g8.net/free_smiley_generator/
