I remember watching this movie as a kid in the 80's, so it could be slightly older than that. All I remember is a family is trapped in their house...if they looked out the windows/doors, all they saw was a silver barrier of some type. I also remember it getting very hot in the house and certain things melting. There may have been some type of alien/big brother watching over, but I don't remember.
