Title: MST3K saved my sanity
Post by: Future Blob on March 09, 2002, 04:41:00 PM

Normally I'm thankful for all of the regular stuff- you know, breathing, food, body parts all placed in the approved locations, that sort of thing. But today I added something to that list: Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Not thankful for their humor so much as their existance. Today they showed "Hobgoblins" and if not for the comforting and protective filter of the show,I might well have plucked out my eyes and ran down the street making T arzan noises. I was in serious physical pain from that movie, but I survived. Let this be a lesson to you all: Never watch a bad movie without protective equipment!

I just bought Hobgoblins on dvd today and watched it a few hours ago and it was absolutely horrendously bad. It's pretty strange that MST3k showed it today and I had no clue about it being on there. I didn't even know about the film really besides seeing the cover a few times online. I was just walking around best buy and it's bizarre evil gremlin monster cover caught my attention. I didn't gouge my eyes out after watching it so heres proof that a person can sit through the movie without Mike and the bots. To desribe this movie I'd say it's like gremlins done with absolutely no plot, cheap stuffed green puppets randomly thrown at actors, and overuse of fireballs and bad music. It's truly up there as one of the worst bad movies of all time. I sort of liked it very slightly, strangely enough. Fred Olen Ray and retromedia released it.

I've done 12 Roll yer own MST's....12! All movies Joel, mike and the Bots never got around to. Its a goal in life...get the turkeys the guys diden't get.....i never said it was a great goal......but it doth be mine! Hey, i'm easily amused.

Hobgobins-wow. If it's not the garden-implement jousting match, the pathetic old guy, the nudity-free strip show, the cheap monsters, the sad attemps at humor or the infuriating stupidity of the story that gets you the acting sure will.
