Title: Gas Mask Mine Maniac!?
Post by: Psycho Circus on July 24, 2008, 09:01:34 AM
This one's just come to me now...I saw this film on the Sci-Fi channel about 4 years ago I'd say, about some guy that worked in some mine drilling or in some deep shaft. Anyway, there's teenagers and they get terrorized by a psycho in a gas mask (think he had a drill weapon?). In the end it turned out to be one of the teens' dad....I can't quite remember.

This film was really cool and was made probably between the late 70s and early 80s.

Anyone know this film?

I just can't put my finger on it, but I think it's related to some holiday. Something along the line of "Valentine's Day Massacre" or such...

...probably Halloween Massacre? or Thanksgiving Day?

It is indeed "My Bloody Valentine." You can read my review of it HERE (http://www.bmoviefilmvault.com/breviews/my_bloody_valentine.html). This is one of the more overlooked films in the slasher sub-genre, and currently, only the R-Rated cut of it is available. (Though attempts have been made to get the much gorier uncut version put out on DVD.) And naturally, it is currently undergoing the remake process and set for a January (???) release.

Noooooooooooooo!!!!!

How do these people in the film industry get their jobs in the first place? Can't anyone create something original anymore instead of ruining old films for movie fans. I'm waiting for Jaws & Beetlejuice.....I know they're coming at somepoint, an that's the day I buy a shotgun.(you have been warned Hollywood!)
