I haven't seen too many of Takashi Miike's films, but this is movie is probably as close to "kid-friendly" as he'll ever get. A down and out Japanese schoolteacher with a fetish for tokusatsu shows becomes his favorite superhero and saves his country from invading slime creatures from space! I thought this was a pretty fun flick and I enjoyed it enough to watch it a few times. TURN ON THE BLACK AND WHITE! :bouncegiggle:
Another kid-friendly Miike film is THE GREAT YOKAI WAR (2005):

It was enjoyable, with some nice images and dozens of unique Yokai (freindly spirit monsters), but not nearly as memorable as Miike's adult stuff I've seen.
I've been meaning to sat that film Rev. I have all three of the old Yokai Monster films (I've only watched "Spook Warfare" thus far, but I enjoyed it thoroughly) and I'd really like to see Miike's take on those crazy critters. Thanks for reminding me about "Great Yokai War!"
