Title: Tomb of Anubis Updates - 08/17
Post by: AnubisVonMojo on August 17, 2008, 03:11:31 PM
We had another fair week of work at The Tomb of Anubis (http://www.tombofanubis.com) folks. Both Nix and Ragnarok returned this week to tag a few flicks along with Anubis.

Nix started off the festivities on Tuesday with a review for the Stallone infested comic book crapdaptation Judge Dredd. Ragnarok brought the bacon for Wednesday with the ninja nun craziness of Kunoichi: Lady Ninja. And Anubis finished out the week on Thursday with the overgrown kaiju fighting mockumentary Big Man Japan.

Thank God! I'm not the only person who's seen (and reviewed) "Dai-Nipponjin" around here! I totally agree with you that flick Anubis: A lot of wasted potential. The climax is amazing though. I laughed until I cried; then skipped back a few chapters and watched the "Super Justice" clan kick some ass again.

Here's my review for the flick if you give a damn: CLICK HERE (http://www.bmoviefilmvault.com/capsule_reviews/dai_nipponjin.html)

Also, I read somewhere that the red devil creature was supposed to symbolize North Korea and Super Justice represented the US. How that all comes together in the end is a mystery to me, but perhaps it will be solved when this bad boy hits Region 1 DVD..... if it ever does.

Actually, it kinda makes sense, given that when the Super Justice folks beat on the red devil, it's not a big dynamic fight like you'd expect, but more like a super-sized mugging. It's kinda brutal watching them beat him over the head with rolled up newspapers, and the tear the clothes off of him! I agree with you on that Jordy, hopefully the US release comes with a good commentary track to help make sense of the insanity!  :buggedout:
