Title: Nightmare Man (2006)
Post by: Mofo Rising on August 19, 2008, 04:11:08 AM
So this movie was part of the "8 Films to Die For" Horrorfest of last year, in which they purported to release films that were too scary and disturbing to release. I haven't seen the others, but Nightmare Man only managed to distinguish itself in the fact that the lead actresses breasts were really super fantastic.

In fact, here's my review:
Nightmare Man: Godawful. Do not watch this movie.
Lead Lady's Breasts: Two thumbs up! I enjoyed ever second!

This isn't a full review. Don't watch Nightmare Man. It sucks and it's stupid. Are the rest of these movies this bad?

Here's one note: sexy games of Truth or Dare can be exciting in real life, but on celluloid they are full-on brain cell murder. Do not build your movie around them.

I've seen a French film called Frontier(s) that was released under this label. It was made by the director of Hitman and I liked it. Nightmare Man however looked terrible so I never got around to watching it.

I saw it and didn't think it was that bad but it was easily forgetable. I had to look up on Netflix to see if I rented which never a good sign. I remember they tried to channel "Theres Nothing Out There" (Theres even a guy who had "There Nothing out there"  shirt on and I pretty much guessed that beforehand) but the jokes were very forced and doesn't come close to being that funny.

It dragged on quite a bit towards the end too. With all that I still tolerated it. Maybe because of Tiffany Shepis?

I just watched this DVD, the idea behind the story was okay, the acting was not real good and about halfway through I sort of had the end figured out so I was not surprised, but this was not that bad of a film. You wouldn't want to give up anything important to see it, but if you get the chance it's not that bad.
