These Law Enforcement characters are sometimes small parts, sometimes major characters but always add to the B-Movie flavor. What are your Top 100?
I'll kick it off with a B-Movie Icon:
100. John Vernon, Officer Curtis Mooney KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE
99. Has to be Willem Dafoe as Agent Smecker in "Boondock Saints"
98. Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand) FARGO
(http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t214/morrisawilliams/2600825514_b744aef718.jpg)
You-betcha-ya!
98. MITCHELL!!!!

96. The Maniac Cop :teddyr:

No.95 - Detective Ray Cameron - "It's Miller time!"

#94) Sherriff Buford T. Justice

93. Inspector Clay and the rest of the investigative team from PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE

Sorry, here's the link, it's a too big pic.
No.91 - Asmodeus - The demonic park ranger of
Equinox. Granted, the guy was a park ranger, but that's some kind of uniformed official type position, right?
90. Inspector Mulrooney
(http://millionmonkeytheater.com/moviepicsg/mummy38.jpg)
From Hammer's 1959 The Mummy. At first he's so skeptical you just know Christopher Lee's Kharis is gonna be the end of him, but miraculously, he comes around and accepts the idea of a living mummy and winds up being a pretty awesome monster-fighter alongside Peter Cushing's John Banning.
89. Sgt. Jim Bert, keeping America safe from lousy punk kids, if not from maneating blobs from space.

88. Mortis & Bigelow
(http://b.imagehost.org/0453/Dead_Heat-poster.jpg)
87. Sheriff Michael Garris from Friday the 13th, Part 6.
This guy has some of the best lines in the entire series:
"Don't p**s me off, Junior, or I WILL repaint this office with your brains."
"If I had you where I wanted you, they'd be pumping your ass full of formaldehyde."
"F**king A! What did I tell you? Hit the noise and the cherries!"
and my personal favourite:
"That's what's known in the books as screwing the pooch! Iron this punk!"
86. Sheriff Loomis from THE WRAITH:
85. Inspector Roberts from WAXWORK.
Ironically another skeptic (A bit of a hardass at that... "balls in the slammer" and all) who comes around to the heroes' side when he becomes wary that the waxwork's curator is a total freak... However, unlike the aforementioned Mulrooney, he actually ends up killed by the hands of a mummy.
Or does he?? As we see near the end Roberts is still alive, screaming, and presumably not even turned evil like the other victims of the waxworks! Unfortunately, he does not have a chance to fight his captors again... As he still can't escape from Rao-Ul's crypt...
Extra points for being a total cross between Dirty Harry and a SaW detective!
#84) Marshall O'Niel from "Outland"
83.) Peter, Dawn Of The Dead
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G68LnrTO-Z0
BEN JOHNSON as Captain Harlin Tanner in SUGARLAND EXPRESS.
No.81 - Lt. Lefty Enright - When his nephew mysteriously disappeared and his niece wound up in a mental hospital screaming about a family of cannibals, Texas Ranger "Lefty" took on a personal crusade to bring these lunatics to justice... on the end of a chainsaw! Best Dennis Hopper role EVER. :teddyr:
#80) Sargent Nicholas Angel, one half of the Hot Fuzz
(http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q122/DENNISDURWARDHAMMOND/untitled-9.jpg)
79. The sheriff of TINY TOWN
(http://www.badmovies.org/movies/tinytown/tinytown7.jpg)
(still from Andrew's most excellent review)
#78) Deputy Joe Lupo from "Eureka"
I find her arresting.
No.77 - D.I Jack Regan (John Thaw) from movies "Sweeney!" and "Sweeney 2" as well as the original TV series "The Sweeney".
76. Brannigan. Not a "B" budget, not a "B" star, but definitely a b-movie detective.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAJF2ftv2jY
75. Buford Pusser (Joe Don Baker) WALKING TALL
(http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t214/morrisawilliams/Pusser.jpg)
Sheriff Gene Freak from Troll 2
73. Sergeant Howie (Edward Woodward) THE WICKER MAN
(http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t214/morrisawilliams/wickerman_howie.jpg)
72. Nathan Fillion as Bill Pardy in Slither
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Nathan_Fillion_75381611.jpg)
Not the "best"... but...
71. Police Chief Alaniz from THEY SAVED HITLER'S BRAIN
Special award for perservering in the face of an incredibly confusing plot: he's got no more idea what's going on than the audience, but he bravely carries on trying to stop Hitler's brain.
(Sound clip) Alaniz's penetrating analysis of Hitler's leadership qualities (http://www.badmovies.org/othermovies/hitlerbrain/hitlerbrain4.wav)
70. Sgt Bedlam - Highway To Hell (1992)
#69 PC Danny Butterman, the other half of "Hot Fuzz"
