As b-movie fans, we are all familiar with the iconic Toxic Crusader. Also, if you are a b-movie fan AND grew up in the 90s, then you're probobly familiar with the Toxic Crusaders, which is the animated series that was based on the T.A. movies. The series was modestly popular, spawning a line of action figures, video games, comic books and more.
I was reading one of my Toxic Crusader comic books today and I came across an advertizement for a contest that Marvel comics was holding. The prize was to be an extra in the Toxic Crusaders live action movie, which was said to come out in 1993. I did some resurch and came up with nothing. Does anyone out there know anything about this? HUH?
New Line Cinema bought the rights to produce a Toxic Crusaders film in the early 90s, but decided not to go ahead with it. However, they retained the rights, so Troma will never be able to produce a Toxic Crusaders film if they want to. Lloyd Kaufman goes into details about his frustrations in his book Everything I Need to Know about Filmmaking I Learned from the Toxic Avenger.
Aww bum, bum. That'd've :question: been good back in '93 or whatever. (can't seem to form sentences today :lookingup:) I used to love Toxic Crusaders, I love it more than the real Toxic Avenger Troma films and I've always found it bizzarre that a kids show came from those movies. :bouncegiggle: I had all the toys from the series, still got some of them, lost Toxie's mop tho'! :buggedout: It's interesting to read this, even tho' it is a bit of a shame I am glad, for it to be made in this day and age.....good lord I dread to think!
