I thought this film was an okay action film, not great. I can undrstand people not flocking to the cinemas to see it, thus it not pulling a lot of business. I mean, when I first saw the trailer I had no idea whatsoever what the film was about, but I thought I'd give it a go. Nicholas Cage is always hit and miss, this lies somewhere between both.
Nicholas Cage is one of my favorite actors. There have only been a few films of his that I didn't care for.
Personally, I thought this film looked terrible. I haven't seen it yet but the trailer made it look so dark and depressing, I had a feeling it wouldn't do to well.
And it's getting terrible reviews.
Check out this page for it on Metacritic...it's scored a 19 out of a possible 100. Ouch!

I'll probably see it on DVD, and even then, it won't be at the top of my list.
I'm with Circus Circus, Bangkok Dangerous is a decent film, although too cliched. The critics are being too hard on Cage this time, but it's somehow Cage's fault, his latest movies were just terrible.
It's gonna take him a lot of hard work to regain his credit, and although Bangkok Dangerous is certainly a step in the right direction it's not the kind of film that will get all around good reviews. Back in the 90s, when there was that craze about hitman films and Hong Kong style action, it would have benn a hit, but not today.

Critics seem to be more interested in the guys hair now anyway, it's not that bad, although he does look a bit like Gene Simmons

He does look terrible, that's true. And that comes from a guy who keeps a box of kleenex beside the mirror and who is also considering shaving his damn head, just to forget about the whole balding issue. :hatred:
At least in his earlier days he used more convincing hairpieces. But from Next onwards his head looks like some sort of experiment gone wrong.
is the movie like the new wiker man only with guns?
and lol at nicks hair
I wasn't interested in seeing this one as it is a (GASP!) remake. Has anyone seen the original? How does it stack up to the Nicholas Cage version?

The original is better, it has a bit more depth even though parts of the plot are a bit silly and drag. For action sequences tho' it's top notch.
HOWD IT GET BURNED!
