You guys might recall how over a YEAR ago, I posted a thread about a judge seeing a laundry cleaner for $54 million over a stupid pair of lost pants http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,114455.msg146695.html#msg146695 (http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,114455.msg146695.html#msg146695). Well, guess what? I guess saw a video on Yahoo news that said this lawsuit is STILL going on. It's been over a YEAR and this idiotic waste of time is STILL in the courtroom, and the family that runs the laundry cleaner is STILL having to pay an attorney to DEFEND them against this s**t. And given how much most lawyers charge an hour, I'm sure it's cost them a hell of a lot of money.
(sigh)
And need I remind you it's a JUDGE that's suing these people? Or at least he was a judge, according to another article, he was recently fired for unrelated behavior http://www.upi.com/Top_News/2007/10/31/Combative_DC_judge_given_pink_slip/UPI-83421193837956/ (http://www.upi.com/Top_News/2007/10/31/Combative_DC_judge_given_pink_slip/UPI-83421193837956/).
Anyway, you can read about the latest round of stupidity here.

Several years ago my friend and I were playing a game of asking each other hypothetical questions, and one was: "Would America be safer with 50% more doctors, 50% more police offices, or 50% fewer lawyers." We each readily agreed it would be the latter option, and this lawsuit is a small example of why that is.
You know, I followed this story for a while, and it just makes me want to puke. I can't believe this idiot was allowed ANY authority over ANYONE, let alone what amounts to one of the greatest forms of authority.

I believe that he was an administrative law judge--a hearings officer with no authority to issue a final determination, not a "real" judge. He also lost his job, I believe. He's clearly insane.
Well, that's a relief. BTM should have started this thread with Penn Jillette favorite line ". .and then there's THIS @$$hole". .
Funny you say he's insane, because I had to edit my post a few times before hitting the post button, because I was going off on rants about how he should be locked up in a looney bin. The guy needs simultaneous donkey punches from Mike Tyson and Suge Knight.
I was going to say a judge, of all people, should know better than to file a frivolous lawsuit and waste a lot of valuable time and money. But he's clearly a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic.
I do hope he has to pay damages to the dry cleaner when this is all over.
