It is, Metropolis, better than nothing.  I am also a fan of this poorly represented film, but it's as good as it gets and any cut is well worth watching.  More particularly, there are many equipped with TVO, DVDR or even VHS (unfortunately for me, I'm not one) who can record and catch later so I like to advise.  Happy Halloween!   :smile:

I have yet to see this film, but my understanding is that this "cut" with the "20 minutes of footage missing" is what is believed to be Kobayashi's intended version.  Quite a bit of what is filmed for a movie ends up on the editing room floor.  Part of the director's job, among the most important, is to decide what should actually become the film.

Sometimes the trick is cutting exactly how much needs to be cut out.
