I love it says that arranged the marriage to end an eight year feud between the families. Man, couldn't they just exchange fruit cakes or something?
But, I'm sure that harsh punishment the parents are going to receive will be a huge deterrent to them trying this again in a few years...
To be fair, the article says that Pakistani law does not allow marriage before age 18, and at any rate before puberty, so the two sets of parents are the ones at fault, not Islam.
