On Sunday night my front door got wrecked. I happen to be the only person on this block with a stupid glass door. The thing is, is that it has that wiring between the glass, so I thought it'd be really tough and durable - I was wrong! The top panel has a huge crack through it and the wood is split at the back. The bottom panel is completely smashed through, with a huge hole.
This happened around 6:15 pm, so it was dark already here and it was freezing too! :buggedout: I called the police about 2 minutes after and I made a statement, then a guy from the housing came on emergency call out to board it up. They said that I would be getting a new door put on, but that's like 2 days ago and no-one has been in touch at all.

There's a wooden panel on the back too, I've cleard up all the glass aswell, there was tons of it inside and out.
That sucks. We used to live next to a golf course and somebody put a golf ball through the bedroom window. We were still finding little splinters of glass in the carpeting a year later. The guy who did it was a total oblivion, he shows up looking for his ball.
My condolences about your door, I hate vandalism. We had a window broken a year or two back.
Back in late 1993, I lived in a small town in a new apartment building.
A friend I used to hang out with brought some people over that I didn't know.
After a few hours of drinking, they started to get a little loud and then left. A couple minutes after they walked out, I heard a loud crash. I went downstairs and saw that one of them had thrown a large rock through the front glass door.
The cops showed up, and because they thought they smelled weed, they searched my apt. We hadn't been smoking anything but cigarettes and I think they knew that. They just wanted to be dicks about it and search my place anyway.
Then the landlord wanted to charge me for the door because they were my friends. I informed him that I didn't even know most of those guys...that they were friends of my friend. The landlord wanted to charge me over $1000 for that door. :buggedout: Glad I talked him out of it.

Luckily, the housing association will fix it for free, as I didn't cause the damage and I am renting in a rough area. The problem is, they take a zillion years to get round to sorting stuff out. Last year they did work on the fascia boards and roofs without informing the residents, so I ended up having my windows blocked and unable to be opened. I had to wait 3 months to get a new window put in (that was during summer) and when they did it, they knocked a big chunk out of the wall that is still there to this day :hatred:

Bummer. I never could get into vandalism. It just seemed real stupid.
'Tis fixed! But, the sealant stuff the guy used smells like curry...
