I guess I either never saw the first one, or else it was quite forgettable. At any rate, I picked up this movie earlier this week and watched it tonight. It's kind of a college road trip/torture porn/psychotic trucker film with a little Mad Max thrown in for good measure. I will say that I actually liked it better than I thought I would.
Two sisters and their boyfriends - one a fiance, the other a just-met-in-person internet hookup - are on their way to Vegas for a bachelor party when they cross paths with a psychotic, murdering trucker who kidnaps fiancee-boy and leads the others on a series of humiliating and dangerous escapades to get him back. What can you say for a movie that includes decapitation by big rig, an emo guy buying meth at a truckstop while in drag and wearing a blond wig, a cute girl stealing a finger from a corpse in a morgue, a guy's jaw getting ripped out, and rolling craps for body parts? :buggedout:
If you like gore, suspense, and big rigs, this movie is for you!!
How on this blue earth do you find these movies, indy? I haven't even HEARD of so many of the films you mention in here, lol. Your knowledge of cinema obscura ought to be a thing of legend. And probably is, ha.
This one was just on the shelf at my local Hasting's. For this weekend, I rented something called WICKED LAKE. And no, it's not a porno. Kind of a slasher witchcraft werewolf psycotic convict movie, from the box description.

I remember seeing a TV commercial for Joyride 2 a few weeks ago.
Haven't seen it yet, but I may check out one of these days.
I was really surprised and entertained by the first Joy Ride. It was a really intense thriller with just the right amount of humor.
I haven't really heard much about the direct-to-DVD sequel but it looks like almost no one involved with the 1st one had anything to do with this one.
And it is from the director of the abysmal Hitcher II so that doesn't bode well for it either.
I just mentioned this in recent viewings; my opinion wasn't very high of it. My brother seemed to enjoy it, but I couldnt even finish it.
