Just wanted to say hello to everyone, I've been missing you guys on the board. Currently I'm not homeless anymore at the moment and hopefully things will get better. However, I do have only limited access to the internet so I wanted to get online while I have a chance and to tell everyone hello and that I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas...
I Miss You All,
Grace

What in the world happened?
I've been checking through the threads to see if you have said something about it. Haven't come across anything yet, other than the comment about living out of the car.
BTW...Indy, Cheezy, Geeze...I think she was addressing you guys...she did say 'old'. :tongueout:
Sister Grace!!! Hello!!! I was on the verge of being homeless soon...but I lucked out and found an apartment. I have been homeless...I know how it feels....I'll be praying for you...Bless you and a Merry Christmas.
Sounds like things might be getting better for you, and I hope they are. Good luck.
Hey Sister Grace, what happened? Last I heard you were moving to Florida I thought?
Anyhow, Merry Christmas and hope all is well with you :teddyr:
Miss you!
yeah, i went to florida for awhile and things just went from bad to worse. The cost of everything is going up, food, rent, utilities, ect. while in the meantime due to gov. funding cuts, i lost some benifits that payed my medicare premiums and drug plan premiums, alll in all, my income was cut down to four hundred dollars a month. a single person can't live on that let alone me with a child to raise. the worst part of it is after my elect and water got cut off before we lost our home, i couldn't afford internet to attend my classes (being physically disabled i have to attend online classes) so I went from having a 4.0 gpa to being expelled under an attendence clause. Thankfully, I got ahold of an aunt in wv and she is letting us crash here for a few weeks till we can get a plan together. Isabela is handling better than I thought she would, then again she's only seven so I don't think she understands much of what is going on. Atleast we arent' living out of the car now and eating at the soup kitchens. Things are already better and looking upwards!!
Sister, sorry to hear of your issues and heres looking to brighter days in the future. I hope things turn around for you and Isabela soon. Hope to see more of you soon.
:buggedout: Sorry to hear things are so tough Grace. Here's hoping your luck changes for the better.
Good to hear from you, and glad to see that family came through. In the worst of times they are some of the best people.
Good luck to you Grace!
Sounds like things are starting to turn around. I'll waft a prayer aloft for you.
Good to have you back, SisterG: I'm really sorry to hear about your troubles but I know all will go well for you and your daughter in 2009.
sounds harsh, hope you sort it out alright...
Wow, what an adventure, eh? Good to hear that you've got a place to stay and some time to plan for the future. That's terrible about your college classes, I hope you're able to start that again when things settle down. I wish you all the best, and hope we see more of you around here :teddyr:
Hey Sis, good to hear from you. Been wondering how you were doing. Hope and pray your situation improves even more.
Hmm, I posted condolences yesterday but for some reason they didn't take.
One thing I would like to point out is that you shouldn't be expelled for missing online classes for reasons beyond your control. You should get incompletes and not forfeit your tuition. The college should have an appeals process you can go through. I wouldn't just accept their decision without arguing it.
Sorry to hear about all that. Good luck, I hope things improve as soon as possible.
im sorry about ur troubles and i hope next year is a better one for you and your daughter.
Good News! Good News!!
First, I've got a home! Its a small little house on a back-street a couple of blocks from downtown. An elderly man is letting me rent it very cheaply. He agreed not to charge me for the two months of rent if i would work on the house (and boy does it need work!!) so I guess over the next few weeks my days are going to be filled with painting, ripping up linoleum, and replacing doors. I'm not able to do alot of it but I have some cousins around that are going to pitch in and help me!
Second, I'm appealing my school's decision to expell me, so far I've gotten some of my professors to give W's, but no word on the financial aid situation yet. I'm keeping hopeful though....
I'm just so happy and want to thank everyone for thier words of encouragement.
That's terrific to hear, Grace!
Best wishes
That is good news, and with the ability to appeal your situation to the school, it seems that the only rational result (since now somebody has to consider what is going on - vice just following the formula) is that will get fixed.
Doing repairs on the place for the elderly owner sounds like a win-win situation for both of you.

Great news!
If you need any information and "how do I do that", contact me as you know I work on a few houses. Now I'm not going to come help you since your in West Virginia now ... if you was still in Dresden I'd help you on your house.
Many landlords will trade rent for repairs it's a win-win.
The best to you, Sister Grace. Keep the positive attitude.
