Question:
How far along are you with your Christmas shopping this year?
Option 1: Completely done!
Option 2: About 3/4 done
Option 3: 1/2 done
Option 4: 1/4 done.
Option 5: Just started.
Option 6: I haven't started.
I just finished up my Christmas shopping today. I usually try to have mine all done the weekend after Thanksgiving but due to cash flow issues I had to spread my shopping out a bit this year.
But I got my Mom's Christmas ordered today along with her husband's gift as well.
So, how far along are you all with your Christmas shopping?

I've spent more on Chanukah gifts so far than Christmas. Must remedy that.
I haven't even started, but I guarantee I'll be 100% done within 6 hours :twirl:
Done...because my wife handles all that nonsense.
Must...restrain...myself...from kicking...cheerful...Christmas...SHOPPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Recently single and having no social life, I was done before I even started this year.
Pretty much done, perhaps a few more items. Christmas isn't what it use to be it's a commercialized marketing fest, I'd prefer to just skip it.
Haha. . .DONE!. .
I don't do christmas shopping, I don't do christmas full stop.
I don't believe in the reasons for celebrating it in the first place, so it would be against my beliefs as a non-believer. Most people these days have no idea how it originated, so it's all a media/company driven holiday to shift as many products as possible. Also, I've had too many bad christmases to remember, especially when spent with other people i.e. my family. Ontop of that, I feel kind of down this time of year because in the past 3 years I never got to spend it with the girl I loved (now my ex), 'cause we'd get into an arguement or she'd cheat on me with some old fart.
So, it's gonna be my usual "spend it alone with no decorations, no presents, in my dressing gown and slippers, eating steak and mash, smoke a cigar, get drunk and watch Trains Planes & Automobiles. :teddyr:
Eh, it's an excuse to get time off and hang with family [which in my case is usually a good thing]
That and get free stuff. Plus the weather's usually really good, nice and hot, so it's generally a pleasant day. No slushing through snow for us!
That being said, I haven't got anything for anyone yet, but I KNOW what I'm getting. I just need to get off my buttocks and do it.
All of the stuff that the kids will absolutely die if they don't get is safely wrapped and under the tree. Plenty of little junk left to get though. I'm sure it will require plenty more trips to the mall. The people at the little kiosks haven't been assaulting us like they have in prior years. Have good manners and decorum finally taken over? It's very puzzling.

I agree. But over the years I've gotten into more of the giving gifts end of things instead of worrying what I'm going to get. In fact, I seriously tell people that they don't have to get me anything if they don't desire to.
I've got two nephews ages 11 and 4 and I get the most enjoyment anymore out of watching them open their gifts more than everything else.

Good point, but the way I look at it, is if I only have to force myself to be nice to everybody this ONE day, and not the entire year, it's worth it to me to put up with it. :teddyr:
I have one more item to find. Each year I curb Christmas a little more. I despise shopping. Decorating is a bore, though I do have a small tree. I do enjoy Christmas music. We will have a few friends and family here on Christmas day. I have no problem with the virgin birth, but I recognize the celebration for me is Celtic, a mishmash, largely pagan.
