Some of you know this, some of you may not ... IMDB through HULU is offering free movies to watch on line ... some "B" some newer releases and a many others. Just click the link to the movie page and then click "Watch It" on the movie you want.
Nothing to join, no cost, no sign up that I know of just free movies, legally.
And it works in Firefox ... unlike Netflix.

excellent, loads of films Ive not seen on there. thanks
very nice!
They got A HATFUL OF RAIN; a Bernard Herrmann-scored film that's almost impossible to find.
Thanks!
another good (legal) site for this...

That site doesn't look entirely legal. They have some free/legal content, but they also have movies like JAWS on there. And they make no mention of copyright in the FAQ, a sure warning sign.
They seem to avoid the law by not hosting any movies on their own site, just providing links to other hosts, some in foreign countries.

Wow, cool, "Gran Torino". I had no idea Clint Eastwood was so liberal as to offer his movie FOR FREE!
Definitely NOT legal.

No it's not legit, I even tried to view a few of them and couldn't get any of them to play. Tried to get to "Update Software" which I declined likely loaded with spyware.
ROB ROY is on the list, but they just link to Amazon to BUY the viewing :bluesad:
Same thing with AMITYVILLE II
Same thing with CASINO ROYALE (67) only they don't even link to Amazon there
Of course, it has several links under the "All videos" sidebar, but clicking "Full movies" only reloads the same page :(
It also won't let unregistered users watch r-rated movies...
This site has free movies. The person running it seems to be aware of what is public domain and what isn't. I'd love to download some of these and burn them to DVD, but I can't seem to download them. And I have serious trouble sitting in front of a computer for two hours watching a movie when I can be lounging on my futon watching a movie.

If anyone can offer non-geek-speak advice on how to download these things, I'd be tickled periwinkle.
two youtube channels come to mind:
cinetic (http://www.youtube.com/user/cinetic)
(look at the "features on youtube" playlist)
mgmdigitalmedia (http://www.youtube.com/user/MGMDigitalMedia)

Hm... I'm using FireFox 3.0 on a PC, and as soon as I clicked the download link, the computer started downloading an .avi file. What operating system are you using?
Too bad it doesn't work for you. :( I'm currently downloading THE LIFT. :tongueout:

I finally used IE so I could make the film load onto my hard drive. I'm in Heaven. "Tunnelvision" and "The Witching"!!!! And three sets of trailers!!!!!!!! This is gonna cost me a whole other 50-pack of DVD blanks. But I don't care!!!!!!! And finally, "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark" on DVD!!!! No more watching that awful VHS dub!!!!!!!!
Oops, I think I wet myself....
can anyone reccomend some good ones from that site?

If you are referring to http://cultrararevideos.com (http://cultrararevideos.com), then I would really need to know what kind of thing you like.
If you want a straight-up horror type film, I'd recommend "Town That Dreaded Sundown" and "Dark Night Of The Scarecrow," which you should snag before the DVD hits, unless you want all the extras that may be on the DVD.
If you want weirdness, "Curse Of Bigfoot" and "Bigfoot" would keep you busy.
For comedy, I'd recommend "Drive-In" and "Tunnelvision," which will require an open mind and lack of offense at racial humor.
There are others on there I haven't seen but intend to, so I couldn't claim their merits.
The Town that feared sundown looks cool... is it?

I recommend it. Not bad for a low-budget scare flick. It owes a lot to "Legend Of Boggy Creek" Hmmm...I wonder why?

straight up horror is my thing. Unless I want a laugh, in which case unintentional comedys are my thing.
Ok, Dark Night of the Scarecrow was fantastic. Hurry up and snag your free copy, everyone!
I shouldn't be promoting this, but one can often find obscure horror flicks on YouTube by searching for "parts" - most are broken up into 10 min segements...
I recently picked through that website and here's what I got:
The Lift - Good if you're looking for something to enjoy over popcorn. Don't expect a horror movie.
The Evil - Pure poop.
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark - Mildly spooky. I rather liked it.
I also got Death Ship and Bigfoot, what I haven't watched yet.
Does anyone know of similar sites?
