My wife sent me out to get us 'a cheezy horror movie.'
"13th Child, The Legend of the Jersey Devil" might have actually killed my love for bad movies. It is up there with Britney Baby One More Time" as a movie whose shoestring budget would have been better spent...would have been better off on fire.
I'm actually afraid to intentionally look for something bad again. Empathy? Morale?
I despise this film. I actually saw it in the theater, if you can believe it. Granted, I have all the respect in the world for those who go to great lengths to get movies made, however, there's a point at which you have to stop and realize that your work sucks and you need to give up before its too late. Having grown up with the legend, I was disgusted with how they F'ed up the mythology (What happened to Mother Leeds? Where the hell did the shapeshifting indian come from?). The acting is god awful, it looks like it was filmed with a camcorder, and the monster was a poor ripoff of the Alien Xenomorphs. The only way we could make it through was to laugh at it, and even then it was like trying to laugh at a car wreck (a car wreck, at least, would have been entertaining). :hatred:
