Vague memories again...Movie from the 80'ties...A nightmarish movie, the protagonist feels like he is falling in bed. It's like he is being teleported from here and there, yelling out and screaming.

Nightmare on Elm Street Part 6 has a couple of scenes with a bed falling an incredible distance.  That's how the movie starts, actually.

Only thing I can think of would be Dreamscape (1984) with Dennis Quaid, about a science experiement to put a psychic in the mind of a dreamer to help them relieve bad dreams.

Though, I don't think that quite has the scene you are refering to.

The somewhat infamous DEATH BED: THE BED THAT EATS PEOPLE seems to fit... it's mid-70s, not 80s, but it is entirely surreal/dreamlike, with multiple scenes of characters "falling in(to the) bed", including the central male character...?
