I saw this the other night, another of those movies that ends up in my Netflix queue and I don't know how. The Netflix description of it seems to be off also, but, it's still a bunch of fun. Basically, people are chased by a bunch of leach-like things that came out of a woman that was impregnated by a guy that has some serious alien parasite issues. She was basically a 15-foot flesh-colored beach-ball with a face, before she exploded. The entire town becomes part of a collective conscious controller by parasite dude. All in all it was pretty fun, and full of all those b-movie mistakes we come to love. Grenade with 15-second fuse: Check!, Cheesy special effects: Check!, Alien parasites that can kill people, but are totally stopped by a handkerchief: Check!. If you always want to see bad things happen to @$$hole men who have wives much hotter and much younger than they deserve, then this is your flick.
I enjoyed that movie, it was good B-movie fun like you say.
i actually found it rather humorous. Loved the scene where the mayor freaks out cause there isn't any Mr. Pibb in the cooler. In fact the mayor is one of my favorite characters in the film.
Also the song playing at the ending credit I wish I had. There is times I want to play that to my wife.
Without a doubt a great horror/comedy that pays homage to many fims from the 80's. James Gunn is such a fan of the genre and pulled it off very well. And the cast is excellent. Nathan Fillion is the man.
Even though Slither rips off Night of the Creeps a little bit (unintentionally so from what I've read) I still enjoyed it. The 1st half is stronger than the 2nd half though.
Michael Rooker is a hoot and Elizabeth Banks is gorgeous and very good as always.
This Movie Is One Of My Favorites , I've Seen It Two Or Three Times Already
If You Watch The Behind The Scenes Stuff On The Dvd , They Mention That Lloyd Kaufman Has A Cameo As A Hobo On The Street In The Movie
I was actually kind of disappointed in this one. It wasn't too funny, and the last half was so-so. Not a bad film though, and I love the scenes with Michael Rooker. He's the best part of the movie, I especially like the love scenes where they play that song. Whenever I hear it on the radio now, it always makes me smile.

I totally agree.
Saw this in the theater years ago. As my friend and I were walking out of the theater, we both agreed that Slither was just ok. Nothing really special. We were kinda disappointed.
Like Jim H said, it was just so-so. Parts of the movie fell completely flat for me.
I've even seen it twice since then because usually a repeat viewing makes me appreciate it or like it more.
Nope. I still think it's mediocre at best.
I'd rate it
2 out of 4 stars.
