I loved Jeff Liebermans "Blue Sunshine" So I was psyched for this. Great post texas Chainsaw Massacre, pre Friday the Thirteenth kinda sorta slasher movie probably overlooked because it has been hard to find and perhaps because it doesn't distinctly fall into either the slasher or mainstream horror sort of genres. It doesn't have the themes of Hitchock or William Friedkin or the high body count of your straight to video gore fests. Some character development ideas are a little convoluted but don't detract. I liked the Nicole Kidman look alike redhead especially. bottom line: fun to watch early in the cycle horror movie with a goofy but likeable cast and "deliverence / cannibal holocaust" type city people vs woods weirdies theme. Film quality isn't the best but packaging is good.

I enjoyed Lieberman's films as well. SQUIRM is a favorite! Never heard of this one,though...sounds like it's worth a watch!
I haven't seen Squirm. Blue Sunshine is about all these people who took this type of acid and ten years later their hair falls out and they become horrible murderous lunatics
I've professed my love for this movie many times on this board. To me, it's the perfect slasher - even better than Friday The 13th. Jeff Lieberman's other movies (Squirm, Blue Sunshine) are excllent as well.
Thought I'd dig up this older topic with a question. Supposedly the Shriek Show DVD is a cut version, and I've read that only the Paragon VHS is the only truly uncut version. Well, I'm proud to say that I own both, but I don't really see a big difference as far as missing footage goes. It's been said that the opening kill is one of the scenes that was snipped, but they look exactly the same to me (they both do appear to be edited, you can tell by the audio). Sadly, my VHS version is so muddy, that you tend to miss out on key scenes, like the final battle between Connie and the killer(s). It's pretty much just pitch black for a good five minutes or so. I was just wondering if the Paragon VHS version is truly uncut or not. Anyone?
(edit: just found this on youtube. it appears that my vhs was cut as well.)

Never have really understood all the admiration for this slasher flick. When I got to see it I had no idea that it was regarded so highly by a lot of horror fans as a cult classic. I thought then and still do that it's pretty bad and worst of all, boring.
I Bought The Two Disc Special Edition In A Bargain Bin For About Ten Dollars , And When I Watched It I Loved It
It Was Like A Cross Between Friday The 13TH And DELIVERANCE
