MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – Police said an 11-year-old girl threatened her 7-year-old sister with a gun to force the younger child to play with her on Monday at her grandmother's residence. Police said the girl also pointed the .38-caliber pistol at her grandmother. The child surrendered the gun after the grandmother made several demands for it.

The weapon wasn't loaded but police believe the girl didn't know that.

Police said the two girls argued and the 11-year-old then retrieved the gun from her grandmother's bedroom.

She was being held at a juvenile detention center on charges of brandishing a weapon and domestic assault.

You know, it's funny... I remember when my oldest niece was a younger girl, she could be EXTREMELY bossy and demanding when she didn't get her way (no idea where she gets that from *cough*hermom*cough*) and she'd constantly demand attention from me when she'd visit and wanted to do things her way.

I guess I'm lucky we didn't have a firearm on the premises...

I bet if they had a video game this would have never happened, because they'd have already been playing it. I see this as a classic case of LACK OF video games causing violence. Someone give them kids an X-Box and the latest version of GTA before someone gets hurt.

When he was four years old my big brother got tired of the 'bossy' girl in our neighborhood (she was a "biter"!) so he knocked out her front teeth with a little souvenir baseball bat.

My brother is 52 now, but our family still talks about it!
