If you've ever wondered what goes on during the Church of Scientology's Sunday services, a professor who is visiting a different place of worship per week for a year and blogging about it spills on his experience of worship at a Scientology center on a recent weekend.
My favorite part is :
Look at the ceiling.
What is it? The ceiling.
Now look at the left wall.
What is it? The left wall.
Look at the right wall.
What is it? The right wall.
Now look at the left stage.
What is it? The left stage.
Now look at the right stage.
What is it? The right stage.
Now look at the floor.
What is it? The floor.
Where are you? In the present.
Where are you? Right here.
Where is your right hand?
Where is your left hand?
Where is your head?
Where is your neighbor? Right there.
Where is your neighbor's head?
Which goes on for half an hour, the professor tells us.
Then there's the bit about standing and applauding a bust of founder L. Ron Hubbard whenever one of Hubbard's quotes was read, and then chanting toward it at service's end. Whatever makes people happy, I guess.
Annnieway, the professor's blog entry is at:

It's worth reading.
ER, that reminds me of something I saw in a college toilet stall once.
On each surface, there was a different message.
On the floor: LOOK LEFT.
On the left: LOOK RIGHT
On the right: LOOK UP
On the ceiling: LOOK IN FRONT OF YOU
On the toilet door: STOP LOOKING & DO WHAT YOU CAME HERE TO DO ! :teddyr:
I'm more interested in Frank Zappa's "Church of Appliantology". Why can't I have my own model XQJ-37 nuclear powered, pan-sexual roto-plooker?
Funny thing is, Zappa's version doesn't seem any weirder, just funnier, and with better songs about it.
That "look at the left wall, look at the right wall" reminds me of that joke about nuts, the "There's a nut on the wall to your left, and a nut on the wall to your right, , what do you have?"
From what you posted, it sounds like someone made a religion based around one of those old text based RP games.

It is dark and you are likely to be eaten by a Grue, or have an idiot jump on your couch. . .
