Title: Some UK horror TV premier news
Post by: BakuryuuTyranno on June 01, 2009, 04:07:05 PM
I kind of screwed this up last time, but at least this time I at least know what's airing on Zone Horror this month. So, for anyone in the UK who unaware of upcoming premiers...

Zone Horror:

Ah yes Zone Horror, the home of The Asylum! Why does it fell like a step down from when Zone Horror was (officially) the home of Troma? Anyways, all these movies are repeated the next day.

Subspecies (June 3rd) – A Full Moon vampire flick. Anyway it's about... it's about something. Actually I can't quite make sense of IMDb's description, but there's a vampire and girls banding together to kill him.

Seed (June 6th) – I've heard this referred to as Uwe Boll's worst movie, and yet it was upgraded from Wednesday premier material to the level of "people will stay in and watch this on a Friday night". Anyway, there's a serial killer in it and he gets executed and comes back from the dead and the cop who arrested him gets involved... wait, seen this anywhere before? Or even, in many movies before?

Journey to the Center of the Earth (June 7th) – The Asylum's remake of the classic movie. Well, I assume fans of the original won't loathe it as much as they did the one starring Brendan Fraser.

Subspecies II
(June 10th) – Another Full Moon vampire flick, another movie where the vampire seems to be trying to seduce someone. Only this time that someone is a vampire.

Retro Puppet Master
(June 12th) – I'm guessing this is some manner of prequel even though a lot of the sequels are prequels.

Merlin and the War of the Dragons (June 13th)– An Asylum movie about Merlin and dragons.

Subspecies III (June 17th) – Okay, this time the seductee is someone who wants to be a vampire.

Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer (June 19th) – Wasn't this shown at Frightfest last year? Anyway, there's this guy, possibly named Jack Brooks, and he slays things, which may well be monsters.

The Day the Earth Stopped
(20th) – An Asylum movie about aliens and robots.

Subspecies IV
(June 24th) – This time there's a possible suductee trying to escape from him.

Death Racers  (June 26th)– An Asylum movie where the fate of the world may or may not be in the fate of the Insane Clown Posse.

Dangerous Worry Dolls (June 27th) – There's a woman in prison and she gets given dolls that are supposed to help her with her worries. I'm guessing they give her more things to worry about.

The Sci-Fi Channel:

On which I'm still waiting for Yeti to re-air and Polar Storm's status is still unknown

Premiers:

Possibly something on June 21st. The 21:00 – 23:00 slot is unannounced, and the same is true of June 28th. And the 20:00 – 24:00 slot on June 30th.  Otherwise, nothing.

Noticeable re-airings:

Supergator
(June 27th) – This is its first re-airing since... I have no idea. It's been a long time, anyway. Possibly since 2007.

Sky Three noticeable re-airings:

Hybrid (June 5th, 8th) – Some guy has a wolf's eyes transplanted into his head and becomes cannibalistic. I think. I'm not terribly clear.

Swamp Devil (June 25th) – There's some kind of swamp monster hanging around. And I think someone was accused of murder. I'm not really sure.

Nightmare at the End of the Hall (June 26th, 29th) – Apparently some teacher thinks her student may be the reincarnation of her former classmate.
