This was the Sci-Fi Channel "original" movie for Saturday June 14, 2009. At a glance this is a quaint space opera throwback to series like FIREFLY and STARHUNTER with action-adventure aspirations of being a real big screen feature presentation ala PITCH BLACK and STARSHIP TROOPERS. Yet, in some ways, it also plays like cloned feltercarb. Never heard of this movie? Or if you saw this flick- starring Connor Trinneer (Enterprise) and James Kyson Lee (Heroes)- when it aired skip the review and share your thoughts on what you saw. Did you like it? Hate it?
Compared to some of the other SCi-Fi channel movies of the past few months, Star Runners wasn't that bad. While watching it, I spent more time trying to think of what movies it ripped off: Pitch Black, Serenity, Starship Troopers, Fifth Element, and Resident Evil
