Most of the time to hear that anyone has pancreatic cancer is tragic but in this case, I feel otherwise.

I agree. I had a grandfather and an uncle die of pancreatic cancer, and it's one of the more painful cancer experiences to suffer through. I used to say "I wouldn't wish pancreatic cancer on my worst enemy," and I'd like to officially withdraw that statement now.
Cancer is terrible. But in this scumbag's case-fug 'em. Some people should die. Stalin-Hitler-Saddam-this dirtball facist turd.
On the plus side, we should probably be glad he's dying slowly for other reasons. This will give him time to groom a proper successor, avoiding the military seizing power and invading South Korea again and starting a war which could spiral out of control (REALLY far out of control, possibly).
It sucks for the people of North Korea, but the old guard in North Korea are a scary bunch and Kim Jong Il being in power was better than them running things.
This kinda worries me. I'd wonder what kind of a person the heir apparant is, it could be possible that hes more nuts than the father. Although I think if the military takes over they won't invade South Korea, its an extremely bad tactical move. First of all they'd have to get accross the DMZ then they'd have to deal with international reprocussions too.

It'd be stupid and never succeed, the problem is apparently a lot of the senior military officials are quite literally insane and delusional - much like Kim Jong Il himself.

If I remember correctly I though I read some where that one of his sons would take over. The one I think they were talking about from what I have read is nothing like his dad, but that doesn't mean once he gets in power he won't end up that way.
I bet that more people live in Pyongyang than anywhere else in North Korea!
