Exactly as the title says...how much of your VHS/DVD collection have you watched?
I'm a bit behind on how much of my collection I've watched -- I got four of the Mill Creek 50-movie boxed sets in a short period of time, so I've only watched maybe 5-6 movies from each of those, and I've barely watched the Hammer Horror films I got a short while ago...
I guess I'd say I've watched maybe 50% of the movies in my collection.
Maybe a quarter, if I'm lucky. I guess I'm stockpiling for my old age, which starts in about ten years or so. I'm such an impulse buyer. I scan the cheap crap at Walmart and will grab multi-movie packs if they are 5 bucks. When I go to Best Buy, I always look for cheap collections. I really should stop.
But I don't.

I'm the same way, and I'm young enough that by the time I'm in my old age there'll have been two format changes, rendering my giant collection of DVDs useless except as frisbees.
133 DVDs, all watched.
10 VHS Tapes, all watched.
About 500 dvds, watched about 90%
I'm way behind. I probably have in the neighborhood of 3,700 DVD titles and there are probably close to 1,000 I haven't watched yet (I may have seen the movie before on TV, at the cinema or whatever . . . but I haven't watched the DVD yet). Probably about 700 of these 1,000 titles are in Mill Creek 50 and 100 movie sets. The others are either stand-alone DVDs or double features. Plus I have a bunch of Columbo, Land of the Giants, Time Tunnel, Kung Fu, and the Avengers episodes (Emma Peel, only!) I haven't watched yet. I have all the ones I haven't seen separated on their own bookcase.
I have quite a few DVDs still in the cellophane. Some are movies I have seen, either in the theatre or on satellite, and bought just to have. Too, like the OP, I have a number of 50 movie packs that I've only watched a handful of movies off of. However part of that is because a LOT of those movies I already have, either in other DVD multi movie packs or from budget bin releases.
Time was I used to take every DVD out of the cellophane to at least scan it to be sure it played okay. But somewhere along the way I stopped doing that.
Don't have a lot of VHS tapes left. I'd say I've watched 98% of them. But thta's only because I've bought a few tapes real cheap from flea markets that were so dull and boring I didn't waste my time watching all the way through.

Bah. I still watch my laserdiscs.
I'd say I've watched more than half of my collection. Most of the DVDs I own but haven't watched are from large movie packs, like the Mill Creek DVDs and some kung fu collections.

I'm doing pretty good actually. I tend to fall pretty far behind pretty often, but, lately, I been catching up. I now have just over 100 DVD's (including, ahem, ...bootlegs) and a handful of VHS tapes to sit through, but even then, most of 'em are movies I've seen already.

Bootlegs? What are those?
:teddyr:
Out of ~500 movies; I'm %99.9 watched... which is bad. I need more MOVIES!!!
I've watched about 98-99 percent of them. (I've got about 20 that I have yet to watch.)

They're, um, uh... they're the legs... of your boots... if you wear boots... which I do... which is why I have bootlegs... uh, um... GOD BLESS THE FBI AND ALL ITS COPYRIGHT LAWS!!!
My guess is I got about 500 to 600 films on DVDs in my home and I have seen about 50% of them. It's just finding the time to watch them is the problem.
I have a bad habit of buying films and not watching them for a long time. There're probably 50-60 movies I have that I've never seen (I think my wife and I own something over 500 DVD's), and then many others I've seen but haven't watched since I bought them.
I have the same problem with books.
I have watched about 98%...as I have no cable or converter box...so I watch movies and read. Or go on the computer. Or drink and listen to music.
The only movies that I haven't watched are the movies on those 50 or 100 title dvds that I deemed to be the least interesting and have not yet been forced to watch. Otherwise, if I buy a movie I usually watch it right away.
I think I've got 6 or 8 movies I haven't watched, two that have been sitting around for a long time, and the rest I just got recently. I like to save the ones I think will be good for the weekends. Got another 5 or 6 I started watching but turned off. I might try again some day. Also about 5 from those 10 pack DVD sets that didn't sound very interesting.
