Title: Some woman is looking for Andrew...
Post by: Doggett on August 08, 2009, 06:31:15 AM
Here's what she said:

I was going through some old papers when I found, essentially, my diary from my early 20s. Reading through it brought up memories of guys I dated at that time, particularly Andrew. I know it's been over 7 years since he and I met and parted way, but now I'm wondering whatever happened to him.

Andrew was stationed with the Marines at MCAS Yuma, in Yuma, Arizona. We met on February 14, 2002 (Valentine's Day) at Monarch's Rest, where I was working as a waitress. We went out the next night and had an amazing time! But that was the last I saw of him, as he got out of the Marines the following week. I was rather heartbroken when he told me that night that he was "getting out in a week," because he was a truly sweet guy and a total gentleman. I think what disarmed me initially was that he bore a striking resemblance (at least, in my mind) to John Cusack.

So, how 'bout it? Do you know him? Serve with him? Are YOU him? Anything that could help me find him again would be great!
Here's what I've got:

-Marine, served between 1998-ish to 2002; got out around February 20, 2002; last stationed in Yuma, AZ
-About 6'0" tall; dark hair (I remember it being a little curly); fair skin (in fact, rather pasty for having lived in the desert for several months)
-He was about 22 or 23 at the time, so he should be around 30 years old now
-I want to say that he said he was from Georgia and his birthday was in May (I can't be 100% on this part, we had more than a few margaritas that night)

Again, at this point, any info would getting me back in touch with him would be great (or help me close that door for good if he married now).

Thanks!

That's not our Andrew, right ?

Well, considering that our glorious leader celebrates his birthday this coming Monday and is, I believe, from Delaware...no.

I am not above pretending to the occasional waitress that I am famous webmaster and marine Andrew Borntreger in order to get a little action from time to time.

That said, I didn't know who Andrew was seven years ago... although it's also true that I've been known to ply women with magaritas and tell them it's Valentine's Day, 2002, just to set the proper mood.

Nah, it's unlikely to be me.  I'm sure she would have mentioned how I screamed out my plan to found "a race of atomic supermen that will conquer the world!" as I reached the height of my passion.
