Guitar legend Les Paul dies aged 94
Musicians from across the spectrum have been paying tribute to the guitar legend Les Paul, who died yesterday at the age of 94.
The musician, who pioneered the development of the electric guitar in the 1950s, died in a New York hospital as a result of complications from pneumonia.
He invented his first electric guitar in 1941 and went on to design the legendary Gibson Les Paul, one of the most popular guitar models among musicians across the world...

He certainly had a full - and very long - life. See ya on the flipside Les :teddyr:
Because of Les we have a lot to celebrate in music, RIP.
The impact of Les' invention on the world of music is incalculable.
All my favourite guitarists played Les Paul's at some point or another. He is a total legend of the music world. Such a goddamn shame that I find out on here, as there has been no report at all on our pile of crap UK news!! :hatred:
R.I.P. :bluesad:
I am terribly regretful that I never went to see LES PAUL in Times Square at a hole-in-the-wall club where people lined up Monday nights to hear and watch the legend play. :bluesad: :hatred:
I think I may have more LES PAUL in my collection than any other single artist, including BEATLES, STONES, NEIL YOUNG et al. :bluesad:
