Title: THE LUNAR PACK (2004)
Post by: The Burgomaster on August 15, 2009, 07:22:46 AM
Here's another useless "hey, let's get a bunch of friends together and make a movie" flick included in Mill Creek's TOMB OF TERRORS 50 Movie Pack.

It starts out with a not funny and not sexy Elvira-type movie hostess named Mistress Misty who introduces 3 short shot-on-video werewolf movies by director Jason Liquori.  In the wrap-around segments, Mistress Misty walks around in a black lace nighty and tells corny jokes.

The 3 werewolf tales are as follows (possible **SPOILERS**, but you won't care):

* A vampire woman and a werewolf woman have a martial arts fight in a suburban back yard.  The make-up is terrible.

* A man, who believes his wife is having an affair, hires a private eye to spy on her.  He finds out she is a werewolf.  The make-up is terrible.

* A guy and his fiancee are attacked by a werewolf in a rural town.  The guy, who is local a troublemaker, turns into a werewolf and has a showdown with the sheriff, who is also a werewolf.  The make-up is terrible.

In addition to terrible make-up, get ready for some bad acting, bad camera work, bad dialogue . . . bad everything.

Mercifully, this whole thing (all 3 movies and the Mistress Misty introductions) only runs about an hour.  Beware.

At least the hostess is kinda sexy, but she has terrible makeup.

For a no budget flick, the makeup, in the trailer, looks fairly good, but prolonged exposure may reveal the truth.  I have this on. I guess I can watch it for the hostess.  Oh, and the side boob shot.

Nope.  Other people do.  But Mill Creek is kind enough to heap all this crap in 50 packs so people like us will buy it cheap and then pick on it.  I love Mill Creek.   I want to have their babies.

I love Mill Creek, too.  I have many of their 50 movie packs.  Most of them have some redeeming qualities, hidden gems, and good old fashioned B-Movies . . . but the TOMB OF TERRORS and DECREPIT CRYPT OF NIGHTMARES sets have movies that even hardcore bad movie fans might be ashamed to watch.  Most of them are amateur movies made by kids or young adults on low (or no) budget.
