Title: REDNECK COUNTY FEVER (2001)
Post by: The Burgomaster on August 17, 2009, 09:06:13 PM
Anyone who owns Mill Creek's TOMB OF TERRORS 50 MOVIE PACK knows it's full of generally bad, amateurish, shot-on-video movies.  Well, REDNECK COUNTY FEVER is one of the worst movies in this bad boxed set.

Imagine a cheesy cross between THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, SOUTHERN COMFORT, DELIVERANCE, and BILL AND TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE and you'll know what to expect from REDNECK COUNTY FEVER.

A white guy (using a very annoying Keanu Reeves / Bill & Ted voice . . . "hey, dude," "bogus" . . . you know what I mean) and a black guy have car trouble on a rural road and need to walk to get help.  They get picked up by a (not very pretty) Daisy Duke type southern chick who drives them to a mechanic.  One thing leads to another and they have run-ins with a drug dealer named Big Bad Bob, a sheriff, a camouflage-wearing cannibal living in the woods, and a religious fanatic who tries to fix their car by praying to the Lord!  All of this happens in the course of 60 minutes!

The sound level goes from low to high, and it's hard to hear some of the dialogue because of passing cars, a twangy guitar soundtrack that is often too loud, and other distractions.

This movie is AWFUL.

Sounds like those Mill Creek sets get worse with every release. I only own one (Nightmare Worlds) which wasn't too shabby though.

The bulk of the Mill Creek sets are fine, but the one's released under Pendulum Pictures are bad Brain Damage Produtions type of films, all shot on video and mostly painful beyond belief.
