Title: Albino Alligator (1997)
Post by: lester1/2jr on August 19, 2009, 04:58:25 PM
This isn't about a gigantic white alligator.  If it was i would have seen it already.  As far as a 90's tarantino influenced relic, this one certainly went down easier than "killer tongue" and though elements of its are  dated and the police probably aren't following proper procedure and so forth, it's pretty good!  It's a hostage thing, with Matt Dillon and two other guys holed up in a new orleans bar very late at night while the cops are outside and they are trying to figure out what to do.  They realize the place was a speakeasy in the 20's,  but will the old secret hatch still work?  if not,  THEn what do they do?  Faye Dunaway is a bar maid.  Viggo mortesnson another one of the hostaged.  directed by Kevin Spacey.  it's kind of besides the point in 2009 but you could do way worse. 4/5

An interesting thing about this movie was that it was in letter box and  the width was shortened but my dvd player automatically blew it up to full screen.  it was fine that way.

Seen it ages ago, on VHS. Didn' thought much of it, despite the cast and being directed by Kevin Spacey, but it has a few good moments. I like how Spacey films bits like the car collision at the begining, or when Mortensen grabs the dart from the board without anyone noticing.
