Whatever happened to angry mobs in films? This used to be a staple in cinema. Where are the frenzied, torch-waving, pitchfork wielding masses of easily-led humanity that metaphorizes the fear-filled, intolerant status quo? There is no modern equivalent of the angry mob, although the status quo which this device represents is still around? What are we going to do to illustrate the ugly head of intolerance and fear? How, I ask you?
