this was kind of a WTF sort of movie. I think it must have gotten the greenlight because it had a vaguely sort of Spielbergian ambition to it and a Oscar baiting roles for the scientist and caveman but it has several problems. The most obvious: why the f**k ar ethe scientists so antagonistic towards the caveman?? What thell did he ever do to them? They seem lke they would be just as happy turning him into a caveman skin briefcase rather than study or, god forbid, BEFREIND him as he is a HUMAN BEING. and where is the media in all this? They just thawed out an anicent frickin iceman for pete sake. The other problem is there is an awful lot of communicating between the one non a***ole scientist and the caveman "Charlie" or "juuuh!!!" as he calls himself. Like 15 minute blocks of the guy explaing his name is
"shephard....shepherd...shep....shep...pard.....shep...pard"
So, ewasy to see why it wasn't a big hit now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go find a scientist and kick his ass
I remember it being very, very hard to make it to the end of that thing.
This is one I saw on vhs back then, and enjoyed it well enough. I think seeing it now would probably not be a wise decision on my part.
I gave up on it during the scene after Iceman escaped, when the head of the project all but stated outright that Iceman would have to be killed because he was an insurance liablility! And then Sheperd decided that the only thing to do was ... let Iceman commit suicide?
Seriously, f**k the scientists in this movie.
