Some of these geese are here year round and usually come out in mass when the hay is cut. I've never been able to get a complete count on them. About 70 is most I've counted, but I know there are more. They can get quite noisy.
My neighbor across the road has two large ponds and they hang out there and at the lake at the back of our subdivision.

I came home for town on Sunday and my wife and daughter were trying to herd this guys out from under my daughters car. This is the second one we've seen in yard in the 13 years we've lived here. They are very reclusive. I wish Odinn7 was still around, he could probably tell us something about this guy (or girl).

I manage to see a lot of critters around our place. We had a snapping turtle trying to get in the garage once, and a week or so ago there was a rat snake under my truck that looked to be close to ten feet long. I think he's living under the empty house next door. I see deer, rabbits, skunks and opossums quite regularly.
